About Us
Philly E-Mall was founded in 2002 as a result of years of trying to start a web portal for talented artists in the Philadelphia area. I, Sid Karp, am the founder, owner, operator and webmaster here of Philly E-Mall, which began, oddly enough, out of another web site, which I had created around 1995. It was called Philly Deli-Scene and it dealt with all eras of Jazz music in and around Philly (Philadelphia, PA). I had it placed on a web server at radio station, WNUR-FM (Northwestern University) as part of their Jazz Web , which was hosted by a man named Joe Germuska. I have to thank Joe for not only getting me started with the site by posting it for me, but with encouraging me to learn HTML code so I could create a web site and later host it on other sites with direct access to it to make changes as the need would arise! Several years later, I used part of the name of Philly Deli-Scene and came up with Philly E-Mall.
At present, I have begun some work on reviving Philly Deli-Scene, but for now I have my hands full with Philly E-Mall and my other sites, which are listed to the left of here. Feel free to check them out.
